400 Small Block Swap - Page 3


Once again we head back out to Selkirk, out to Glenn's garage. Just bolting up the stand bracket onto the block.

As well I began to clean up some parts in preparation of putting the motor back together.


Glenn calls to tell me a package arrived for me at his place. WOO-HOO!! it's my long awaited parts from B.C.

I went with Canadian Hi-Performance in BC, as they are decent kits and prices.

I purchased an Engine Rebuild Kit, which came with a complete gasket set, upgraded my kit to include Moly Rings, as well as Main & Rod Bearings.


Also bought a CompCam Kit, which included the Xtreme Energy Cam XE268, Valve Springs, Oil Rings, Spring Locks which were all matched to the cam.


As well as building the 400, I had planned to install the disc brake setup I had for my nova. These parts came off my old white 74 Nova. Here I am disassembling them, to clean them up, write part numbers and check some pricing on new parts.


Here I am with the heads, getting ready to take them over to my buddy Randy who was gonna rebuild them for me, drill them out for 2.02&1.60 valves, P&P.
