I taped up the holes of the backings, I don't know why I didn't tape the whole thing in the first place.

Anyways, made up a little paint booth to spray the backings. Usingd DuPont CHROME paint, I sprayed the backings. Allowed to dry for about an hour and then another coat.

Left them overnight to dry and in the morning sprayed them a third and final time.

The backings turned out PERFECT !!

After removing the tape from the backings, I used some brake-clean to clean up the exterior of the backings.

The backings are done and now it's time to snap the lens onto the backings.

With a little effort, the lens actually snap together.

The screw reliefs/grooves on the lens will fit on the outside of the backings.

For now, I just snapped mine together. You may wanna epoxy them or seal them together.

*NOTE: When combining the lens & backing, make sure you put the lens with the drain relief on the bottom, along with the hole on the backing.

VOILA !!, time to snap the second one together and there we have it ... Clear Signal/Park Lamp lenses for your 73 & 74 Nova!

... but I am not done yet!

Removed my old 1157 and replaced them with 1157A - Amber bulbs! and install the lenses.

Here's how the lenses with Amber bulbs show with just the running lights, as well as it would be if it was BRIGHT!

I thought I was done. Upon closer inspection, I didn't like how the outer lips of the clear lens looked inside the grill. I didn't like how the lips was grinded away in the corner to fit the lens. There was no lip along the top of the lenses either but you couldn't see it in the top of the grill pocket.

Pulled out the lenses, out to the bench grinder where I grinded away the lips of the lenses till almost at the lens itself.

Here's the finished product, well almost ... I still need to seal them!

Being impatient as I am, I installed them in the car without sealing the NEW clear lenses to the backings.
