Cars I've Owned
1992 Ford Crown Victoria (November 2007-April 2011) |
November 2007, my 81 Skylark finally had enough as the trans. packed it in. Desperately needing a car because of my job and work duties, my dad was nice enough to lend me his 92 Crown Victoria. Yeah, I know ... it's a FORD, (I've always said Fords make great winter beaters), I began to use the Crown Vic as my new daily driver.
The following few months, and talking with my father ... it was agreed he would sell me the Vic, as he was now retired and no longer needed a vehicle to commute to and from work. If he needed to go somewhere, he could always use my moms car (95 Buick Regal) and I always had the Omega as an option for him too.
Late 2008/Early 2009, I started to use the bus to travel to & from work ... which now frees up the car, and Dad can use it when he so desires.
I gotta admit, since crossing over to the dark side (FORD) ... I've REALLY enjoyed driving this car. It's got some pep to it, handles well and rides smoothly. The best part, is the trunk space!! Being a goaltending for ball hockey, I hull around alot of equipement. My goalie bag fits in PERFECTLY and the trunk lid closes with ease.
Sadly over the Winter of 2010/2011, the Crown Vic is really started to rust out badly and falling apart. I just don't have the interest in dumping a ton of money into an old car.
The car has been passed onto my sister, who's husband is a mechanic and has offered to fix it up for her. My sister is gonna need a car to get to and from work in, and the Vic (with some TLC) would be perfect for that.
